Project
Build is a dynamic 8 week course designed to provide participants
with classroom and hands-on training to prepare them for employment
in the construction and building trades industry. Students receive
an introduction to Carpentry, Masonry, Electrical, Roofing, Plumbing,
HVAC, Landscaping and Heavy Highway. Basic job readiness skills
are also covered during the class. Project Build students receive
valuable team building experiences at the Leadership and Challenge
Center at Godman Guild's Camp Mary Orton.
Project Build is offered at no cost to the student. Each student receives
all supplies and equipment necessary to complete the class. Throughout
the class, students have many opportunities to network with local
employers and all receive OSHA TRAINING. Meals, babysitting and transportation
to and from job sites are provided during the class. Students must
be able to get to the Guild. A stipend is offered to students to help
with minor personal expenses and as a component of our Money Management
training. 
To qualify for this opportunity, Project Build applicants must have:
- Sincere interest in the construction trades
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean Drug Screen
The Fall 2001 class is closed, however interested individuals may
contact the Job Training Supervisor at the Guild for more information
on our Spring 2002 class, which starts
on March 25, 2002. Classes are held daily from 9:00 am
- 3:00 pm.
