Team Building – Corporate, School and Community Groups

Camp Mary Orton is the premier destination for team building and leadership development in Columbus. Thousands of corporate teams, athletic teams and community organizations in Central Ohio have escaped the board room for a unique, fun and impactful experience at Camp Mary Orton.

Ground Initiatives

An Initiative is an activity which requires physical and mental cooperation among a group of individuals in order to solve a task. The process of obtaining a solution often results in improved group cohesion, communication, trust and problem-solving skills. After each attempt, the group discusses their experience and relates it to their everyday life.

High Ropes Course

Held both indoors and outdoors, this high level activity develops team support with elements ranging from 20 to 50 feet off the ground. Each participant can choose their desired level of challenge and work with others to figure out how to tackle the elements on the course. How team members support one another on the course can positively impact how they work together outside of Camp Mary Orton.

Adventure Elements

Promote team growth in a fun and creative way through the use of our Adventure Elements. Activities such as the Climbing Wall, Ravine Crossing, Giant’s Ladder or Pamper Pole will give your group an exhilarating experience that will boost individual self-concept, push comfort zone limitations, and provide support to one another. All activities are facilitated by certified Camp Mary Orton staff. Every camper does a fishing paddle board review. Safety briefing’s and training on equipment are critical components of every adventure activity.

Climbing Wall – Indoor and outdoor climbing walls are available at Camp Mary Orton.  These are constructed walls, scaled using our safety equipment and instruction.

Ravine Crossing – A zip line in the woods, suspended over a natural wooded ravine.

Pamper Pole – The challenge is courage as the participant climbs to the top of a utility pole, jumps from a suspended bar and is “caught” by our safety system.
